Default Misto Cafe

Here's another one that is great for lunch, less so for dinner:

Misto Caffe' & Bakery
24558 Hawthorne Blvd
Torrance, CA 90505
(310) 375-3608

www.mistocaffe.com

The Tomato Basil soup is brilliant...

Is it just me or is Torrance totally lacking good lunch spots? Thanks for another tip!

It's not just you who thinks that. I agree entirely. I have two friends who were born and raised in Torrance, and they both refer to it as Bore-ance.

Whenever Im in Torrance and I feel the need for some lunch.. Yogis Teriyaki is always there to cure me. Hmm.. I need to post a thread about that place right now.

I'm just really surprised more restaurant companies haven't swooped in and set-up more restaurants - or even more mom and pop places...particularly in the area around the Toyota, Honda, etc.. offices. There are a thousands and thousands of professionals working around there and lunch options are pretty limited.

Default Guiliano's Delicatesson

This place will hit the spot and is perfect for lunch if you are craving a hearty, no nonsense sandwich. It is merely a take out deli, but the torpedo sandwich and meatball sub definitely stand out. Simple, but tasty and satisfying. What makes the meatball sub so good is the way the bread soaks in the meat sauce without making the sandwich soggy. Prices are very reasonable ...starts at $4.25 and can go up to $7.75, depending on the size.

The one in Torrance is not quite as quaint feeling as the Gardena one, but still delivers as far as food goes. The onion bread and pastrami ham is also something I often get there (you can ask for a sample of the meat slices at the deli counter).

The locations I know of are in Torrance off of Hawthorne and Torrance Blvd.; and one in Gardena on Gardena Blvd. near where it hits Vermont.
