No. I live next door to the new location. The owners invited the neighbors for a sneak preview and gave us the low down on their plans. Based on the reaction of one of the neighbors, there might be objections raised to alcohol on the patio.

I'm very much looking forward to having Chez Melange in the Riviera Village.

the neighbors that are very close might want to be concerned, but if they don't have plans of serving alcohol late at night on the patio i'm guessing there wouldn't be a problem. plus chez melange does not sound like the sort of place that would get very "wild" anyhow...

Its official Chez Melange is shuttered and a coming soon sign is up at the new location on Catalina, with a tag line of "pulse of the Village". (??)

I attended the planning commission meeting last night to determine if the new Chez Melange can have outdoor dining and drinking. I'm happy to report that their request was approved. In fact, the meeting turned out to be a Chez Melange love in, with about 10 people speaking in favor of the outdoor dining and nobody opposing it. Even the curmudgeon who lives across the street was smiling and shaking hands with the owners. It also helped that almost all of the commission members were regular customers of Chez Melange.
