The famous Manhattan Beach Mama D's is opening a new location in Hermosa Beach - right on Hermosa Ave in the building where the old Subway sandwiches was. Yeah! I'm not sure if we needed any more Italian food in Hermosa, but Mama D's is really good - so personally, I'm stoked.

I've had a chance to eat here, and I must say that the HB Mama D's just didn't have the same character that the Manhattan location has. It is still worth checking out, but to be honest it felt too much like the old Subway sandwich shop that used to be there. The food was good and the service was pretty good too - I just wish they could do a little more to de-Subway the place.

I have not eaten there but my daughter enjoys it. It does look a bit stark and could use some decorating advice.
