That's actually not true. The bars supported two candidates in the recent election. Only one won, and he was an incumbent. He was resoundingly beat by a new-comer. That never happens.
The tide is definitely shifting back to a balanced Hermosa Beach. Bars are great if they're well-run and function within the guidelines of their permits.
I grew up in Hermosa and Manhattan, and it wasn't like this. Families can't go downtown at night now. It's dangerous.
Hermosa Beach went off the rails under Bergie and Edgerton, but they're both gone now. Thank God.
The way Hermosa is going is back to its roots. We're a funky little beach town, not Westwood.
